Your Autism Assessment Journey
A clear, supportive pathway to understanding yourself, your experiences, and your unique neurodivergent profile
Step 1
Initial Consultation
Your journey begins with an online consultation with one of our experienced psychologists. During this appointment, we will discuss your experiences, current challenges, personal goals, and whether a comprehensive autism assessment is the right next step for you.
This is also an opportunity to ask questions about the assessment process and understand what to expect.
✓ Available online
✓ Flexible appointment times
✓ Suitable for adults aged 18+
Step 2
ADOS-2 Assessment
The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) is a structured assessment designed to explore communication style, social interaction, sensory experiences, and behavioural patterns associated with autism.
The assessment is conducted in a supportive and respectful environment, allowing our clinicians to gain a deeper understanding of your individual presentation.
✓ In-person or online assessment
✓ Evidence-based assessment tool
✓ Conducted by experienced clinicians
Step 3
DSM-5 Diagnostic Review
Following the ADOS-2 assessment, your clinician completes a comprehensive review against the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder.
This stage considers information gathered throughout the assessment process to ensure a thorough and evidence-based diagnostic decision.
✓ Comprehensive clinical review
✓ DSM-5 diagnostic criteria
✓ Individualised clinical formulation
Step 4
Clinical Feedback & Written Report
You will attend a feedback appointment with your clinician to discuss the assessment findings and ask any questions you may have.
You will receive a detailed written report outlining the assessment results, diagnostic conclusions where appropriate, and personalised recommendations for work, education, relationships, wellbeing, and daily life.
✓ Detailed written report
✓ Personalised recommendations
✓ Workplace and educational guidance
Step 5
Ongoing Support & Recommendations
For many adults, assessment is the beginning of a greater understanding of themselves and their needs.
Following assessment, we can provide recommendations and access to additional services including psychological therapy, ADHD assessment, emotional regulation support, workplace accommodations guidance, psychiatry services, and neurodiversity-focused support.
Our goal is to help you move forward with confidence, clarity, and practical strategies that support your wellbeing.
✓ Neurodiversity-affirming approach
